C.I.R.T. "Independent Centre of Theatre Reaserch" was founded by Mario Ruggeri in December 2000, for the purpose of studying and deepening theatre practice through research. In the first years, the work of the group was accompanied and supported by artists that had worked with Jerzy Grotowski and by experts in specific areas of the performing arts. Ang Gey Pin and her approach were fundamental for the performative sphere of our work, as Nhandan Chirco was in the physical training. Riccardo Brunetti worked with us on polyphonic and homophonic song of various ethnic origins. These people, by working with us, have helped us move towards a ‘live’ way to practice the theatre art. The development of the research is not always tied to the practice of theatre in the narrow sense, but it is also tied to the maturation of every single individual and of the group through the experiences. Our work not only develops through the work on our performances, but also through projects that we create more internally in the group. At times these projects lie on the border between the art of theatre and the art of living. This research is dedicated to those whom, with their efforts of Art, have made us, or make us feel, even if for brief moments, that we are someone’s son.

A.I.R.A. "Indipendent Association of Theatre Research" nasce nel Giugno 2005 all'interno del C.I.R.T. per l'esigenza di distinguere la produzione di spettacoli teatrali dalla ricerca teatrale.
